Ummm....I'm guessing she was going for sort of a lipstick look and had trouble with her aim, which is understandable. Might want to keep the mascara on a high shelf.

Wow! I would have panicked if my child walked into the room with red smeared on their face. It sounds like you reacted well and managed to get a great photo out of it!
