What a Difference a Week Makes

Well, I'm pooped so I'm going to keep this short.

It looks like we're moving! (An in-town move)

Last Thursday night we found a house online that we loved and thought would be a good long term fit for our family.  We viewed it on Friday and followed up with an offer. The offer was negotiated back and forth until it was finalized Monday night. We then began blitzing to get our home ready to go on the market; CLEANING, landscaping, painting outside trim and bathroom cabinets, washing baseboards, re-grouting, re-caulking, replacing busted doors in bathrooms :)...etc. Our house hit the market yesterday. We had 3 showings Friday (two by the same person), 6 today, and we've received two offers as of tonight!

I just don't have the energy at the moment to go into the reasons, emotions, and answered prayers surrounding this change, but I will say that God is good.

And now, I'm off to bed.

Seen One of These Lately?

We haven't, but our neighbors have! In fact, they have had two spottings this week in their backyard (one by their poor dog). And when I say neighbors, I mean the kind that are right next door. The "rattlesnake remover guy" told them that this weather is to blame for the inundation.

I'm pretty disturbed.

Kids Day Out

Sorry for so many new posts at the same time, there was just a lot going on the past few days.

Today was the first day of Kids Day Out (a local Mothers' Day Out program) at a nearby church. Elena has been dying to go to this "school" as we call it, since we enrolled her at the beginning of summer. But if you think she was looking forward to it, you should have checked out her mom. Actually some of you might have caught a glimpse of me celebrating my new freedom by doing donuts and burn-outs in the HEB parking lot at about 9:45, but enough about my experiences...

This was the only shot I could grab before I needed to move out of the way for other moms dropping of their kiddos. Evan ran right in and never looked back!

Right before she walked into her class. Can you feel her excitement?

Finding her "cubby". Sigh, this does make me a little sad, because it reminded me a little too much of "real school", which now doesn't feel too far off.

A Weekend Visit

This past weekend also held a visit from Abby and Nate. It seemed pretty short, but I'm so glad they made the trip.  Evan seemed to especially enjoy his cousin Micah's company. He'd go around the house calling, "Mi-ah, whe are ooo?

Evan and Micah (Can you see a resemblance?)

Evan enjoyed holding Micah's hand. Micah did not enjoy holding Evan's hand.

And a picture of the three kiddos. One of these days we might get a decent one.

Baby Shower

This weekend I had the pleasure of throwing a baby shower for my sister, Patty. She is expecting a little girl in early October, and it's so fun to see the color pink again. One of my best friends, Michelle helped me plan and prepare every step of the way, and I'm so grateful for the help!

Michelle did a beautiful job on the cake and cookies!

It won't be long now before little Aubrey is here, and I can't wait to meet her!

A Day in the Life

Although it's been hot, we still squeeze in time to play outside; either in the morning or evening. I love that during that time I can relax knowing that my house is safe from spills, crayons, crumbs, and the toys exploding over the floor.

I don't have too many rules for outside, just that they can't be naked. (You don't know how hard it can be to enforce this one!)  Oh, and the other rule is that Elena has to come inside to pee. Again, harder than you think to enforce.

Elena pulled this onsie out of Evan' drawer to wear today... and it's only partly wet with water.
