My King - SM Lockridge

SM Lockridge, pastor of a San Diego church, spoke these words from the pulpit in 1976 (or so those on YouTube tell me).  I've heard this played in a couple of churches, so while this may not be new to some of you, I hope it again puts your heart in a position of awe towards our King!

It's 6 minutes long, but so very worth it!

Beginning to feel a lot like Christmas

We were riding in the car and I hear Elena softly chanting something that sounded like,
"bes, bes, bes...bes, bes, bes..."

I began trying to place the song when she shouts, "HAY!!!"

Why of course... "Jingle Bells"! I think I was a little thrown off with it being March and all.

FYI

Before I get any further into the posting process, I want to mention a couple of things:

First of all, I've never thought of myself as much of a writer, especially when compared to Ben and his family.  So, I guess I've been a bit intimidated to start a blog until now.

"What's changed?", you ask? Well, I've realized how great blogs can be to keep out-of-town family up to date with the kids. We've posted pictures until now, but as Elena gets older and more verbal, I want to be able to record the funny things she's saying. So, I guess I'm just letting you know to expect a lot of kid related posts here.

Secondly, the Shakespearean quote, "...come what come may..." is like my 17th choice for a domain name. I find it very annoying that there are so many Elkins out there blogging about as frequently as a lunar eclipse and hogging all the "good" names.  Sigh, it's my penalty for joining the "blogging world" late. :-)

Mission Accomplished?

I got up today determined to get a picture with both Elena and Evan (we have very few, if any). I dressed them in "picture-worthy" outfits and headed out back. (Well, actually my first choice was the front yard, but we were chased down by random dogs... that's another story).

As you can see, I succeeded!  That is of course, if the only measure of success is having both of their heads framed.

No babies were harmed during the taking of these pictures.

Hi, I'm Amy...Hi Amy...

and I’m a Blog Junkie!

My favorite blog is, of course, my husband’s. I could read his two posts over and over again…;-). You may think that by being married to him, seeing and talking to him every day, I’d lose the curiousity required to check his blog on a daily basis. But, it is quite the contrary!  That may be a sad indication of how far my blog-obsession-disorder has come or it may just be a good sign of how much I love him and enjoy picking his brain. I prefer the latter. I love you Ben!
